The Avetissyan family cultivated the Siréni grape variety (also known as Khndoghni) in an artisanal way until the 2000s. The arrival of modern winemaking techniques in Armenia made it possible to rediscover this grape variety with the Kataro cuvée which quickly gained its reputation as great wine from Armenia. The Grande Médaille d'Or award at the Councours Mondial de Bruxelles confirmed this in 2017. Despite the disaster of 2020, the Avétissyan family decided to continue the journey and with the last 1000 bottles saved they were able to build up a budget for the new start.
